The dam Bauzen is fed by the Spree and was dammed up in GDR times. The reason was the power plant Boxberg, which needed water for cooling. The result is this beautiful reservoir, which was already a popular recreational area. The great sandy beach, which was also created in GDR times, you can still enjoy today. Here it is nice to swim in the lake and lie comfortably in the sand or grass. For the physical well-being provides a chilled beach bar on the lake.

Nice quiet reservoir. Beach bar including pedal boats available and adjacent to a field kitchen, a mini golf park, a high ropes course and of course a playground for the little ones and the smallest available! Also a detour to the adjacent dam / dam is recommended. Then you can make a great rest and learn a lot about the dam on the information boards!
