Anyone who enters the shop at Bismarckstrasse 3 will find themselves in one of the most beautiful butcher shops in Germany and will certainly be impressed immediately! This is not only due to the fresh sausage and meat products on display, but also to the historic wall tiles from the renowned Villeroy & Boch manufacturer. These tell the story of the butcher's trade and give the room a special atmosphere. The loving restoration in 1993 is the masterpiece of master butcher Thomas Büchner. He has definitely created a very special place for the sale of his delicacies.

As early as 1878, the house, which was built in 1876, had a sausage kitchen. Master butcher Bruno Brendel produced his products here. In 1911, he had extensions made and a display window installed. It can be assumed that the tiles from Villeroy & Boch were already being used at that time. Since Brendel's son died in World War II, he had no successor. In the 1970s, the butcher's shop was closed. In 1992, Thomas Büchner bought the property and was impressed by the tiles. In 1993, restoration work began in collaboration with the monument preservation authorities. The tiles to be replaced were made according to original templates by Meißenkeramik GmbH and the tiles for the floor were made by Johnson in London.
