Hiking
Rifugio Laeng is located in the splendid Conca di Varicla, above Borno, at the foot of the limestone walls of Pizzo Camino and Cima Moren. It is one of the two refuges in the group (the other is San Fermo).
📜 Identity and history
Dedicated to Gualtiero (Walther) Laeng, a mountaineer and historian who officially reported the Camunian rock carvings in 1909.
It stands where the Rifugio Coppellotti once stood, destroyed by the Germans in 1944 in retaliation during the war.
