Located barely one kilometer from Maro, there is a huge abandoned limestone quarry, in which for nearly two decades about twenty industrial vehicles and large heavy machinery have remained, and which have been subject to frequent looting and vandalism attacks. The old mining facility was closed by the Nerja Town Hall on July 20, 2000.
It is an interesting place to explore. Upon entering you feel thrown into a time travel machine taking you back 20 or more years.
