The picturesque estate emerged from a medieval moated castle - even today you can only access the beautiful walls of the manor house via a bridge. However, there is also a lot to discover on the rest of the site. You can buy regional delicacies in the farm shop, while you can treat yourself to fresh cake or a warm dish in the “Alte Räucherei” café. If you like horses, the estate's stud is particularly exciting for you.

It used to be called Gut Kohövede (cow farm). Today's mansion is imposing built on the foundations of a moated castle. It was built from 1729 for Ludwig von Dehn, who gave the estate its name. For a long time it was one of the largest estates in the state and it is still one of the most important creations of the Baroque period in Schleswig-Holstein. Particularly worth seeing are the "Colorful Chamber" with its splendid room decorations made up of 145 emblems and the impressive gatehouse from the 16th century. Diverse cultural events take place regularly at Gut Ludwigsburg. The annual Christmas market is particularly popular.
