Cé chró bhreachain is a traditional cattle pier. Farmers once lived on Illnaubeg in the estuary and fattened cattle for market. Although no one lives there now, farmers still ferry their cattle across regularly.
Note if you wish to have a nice walk there that it is a tarred single lane farm road, so high visibility clothes are advised. There are gravel turn outs on the R road where you can park.

On the shore, where the land gently meets the surface of the water, stretches the Crovraghan Pier, or as the locals say, "Cé chró bhreachain". This traditional cattle walk tells a story of farmers and their close connection to water. Farmers once lived on the small island of Illnaubeg in the estuary and tended their livestock for the market. And although no one lives there today, the image of farmers regularly transporting their livestock across the waterway is a familiar and timeless sight.
