It is not clear when exactly the farmhouse was built. The square was probably built around 1640 and consists of oak and pine. The oak was cut down around 1558 and the pine around 1640. This shows that the farm was built around 1640. The front facade of the living area was probably also built at this time, because around 1700 the masonry technique was no longer used.

The farm was a mixed farm with cattle breeding and arable farming. The entire part of the farm was accessible via the threshing floor. The seed room was located in the room directly next to the threshing floor doors. This is where the seeds of the plants to be sown were stored. Hay was stored between the legs of the square. Behind the square, against the back wall, cattle were often kept in stables.

Because the farm was doing very well around 1880, the barn was added to the rear around 1882. This barn is also internally connected to the front barn.

In 2013, the building was renovated under the supervision of restoration architect Klaas Boschma from Edam. He died before the work was completed.

Opposite this double dome, at Dorpsstraat 80, there is a third dome. However, this one has a wooden facade.
