It was the church of the old municipality of La Barcella and is located about 5 km north of Xert.
What remains today of the hermitage of San Pedro and San Marcos de la Barcella is a complex formed by the church, the hermit's house, the porch that formed part of the hostel and the watchtower.
The exterior appearance of the hermitage is as sober and rustic as it is beautiful: a simple rectangular building of rough masonry facing northwest, with ashlar reinforcements at the corners and a double-pitched roof. The smooth façade has a semicircular arched entrance door and a rectangular window in the pediment, which ends in a curved cornice topped by a small wrought iron cross.
