Originally, the Arminius Spring was enclosed to refresh hikers and served as a natural drinking source. Today, it still invites visitors to take a break and enjoy the fresh spring water.

This idyllic rest area is also a stop on the "Path for Connoisseurs" themed trail and is dedicated to the sense of smell. At a scent stele, you can experience the typical forest scents up close. Just give it a try!

The hiking trail "Path for Connoisseurs - Experience 5 Senses in the Teutoburg Forest" leads directly past the Arminius Spring. You are invited to take a break here. You can experience the sense of "smell" firsthand at our fragrance stele and the typical forest scents. True to the motto "Just take a deep breath"! In addition to creating hiking trails, the Beautification Association renovated the Arminius Spring on the heights of the Teutoburg Forest in 1928. In its current form, it originates from a spring worship that emerged around the middle of the last century. This spring was originally walled in to refresh hikers.

The Arminius Spring can be reached on foot on the X10. From the "Ascheloh" hiking car park, past the "Schanze" waterworks, you reach the rest area after a hike of approximately 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, the spring is empty. We were on a trekking tour and extended our day's walk to refill our water supplies there. Unfortunately, we discovered that the spring had no water.

So if you're in a similar situation, it's better to find a supermarket than make a detour to the spring.

Unfortunately no highlight at the moment, as dry as a frock.

A quiet and well-maintained rest area about 7-10 minutes walk from the Haus Ascheloh car park.
