Like Nordkirchen Castle itself, Nordkirchen Castle Park also occupies an outstanding position. This applies not only to Münsterland, but throughout Germany. The imposing size of the entire Nordkirchen Castle complex is breathtaking. Numerous paths run through the approximately 170-hectare park, some along open meadows and some through beautiful avenues. It is worth allowing a little more time to explore Nordkirchen Castle Park. Only then will the size of the park and its importance for the history of garden art in Europe become truly clear.

Where today there are vast horse pastures, the magnificent West Garden once stood. There are still some relics of the baroque gardens to be discovered. The Oranienburg pleasure palace was initially planned as an orangery, but was then expanded into a pleasure palace. The two-storey historical building, with its regularity, stands in beautiful contrast to the trees in the background. The orangery in the palace park is much simpler. The gardeners' apartments used to be housed in the two short side wings.

The highlight of the garden art is the Venus Island, designed by J.C. Schlaun. The Baroque garden is fascinating due to its embroidery parterre, whose line of sight is seemingly continued into infinity by a central park avenue. The sculptures erected in the early 18th century are no longer in their original places on the Venus Island, but this does not detract from their beauty. In the 19th century, the park was rebuilt based on the model of English landscape gardens, before the Baroque style was emphasized again between 1903 and 1907.
