The tunnel is not only interesting because of its construction, it is also a practical connection between the Parque de Málaga and La Malagueta with Calle Alcazabilla and Plaza de la Merced. It runs under Mount Gibralfaro, was inaugurated on March 29, 1999 and is 182.75 meters long. The tunnel is easy to drive through, at least in the winter months. The (pedestrian) paths are separated or protected from the roadways by pillars and glass panes.

Cycling
It saves us a long detour by connecting two areas, which is highly recommended. Although it's obvious, it's a tunnel, and you must carry lights if you go through it on a bike (even if it's light and you can still see us quite well). On foot, there are well-lit sidewalks.
