The town hall in Cadiz has been located on the Plaza de San Juan de Dios since the 16th century and has been used as such ever since.
With its magnificent Ionic columns and tower, the town hall stands at the entrance to the historic old town.
On the triangular gable of the building is a relief of the mystical hero Hercules, who according to legend was the founder of Cadiz.
