This drawbridge creates the most important connection between the old town center and the newer district in Groß Körris. Even then, Theodor Fontane noted that the passage opening under the flap had a clear width of approx. 20 feet. In 1884 he sailed to Teupitz on the yacht "Sphinx". On this way he had to cross the bridge. This drawbridge is the narrowest point in the entire Teupitz waterway and thus sets standards for all watercraft that want to travel from Germany's waterways to Teupitz.
