The Great Karbuschsee belongs to the Köris-Teupitzer Lake District and is located in a pine forest landscape near the town of Groß Köris.Other forest lakes are scattered in the area, but this lake claims an exceptional position among its surrounding cousins. With a depth of over twenty meters, the lake has the clearest water in the area.

The lake may be beautiful, but at least on the east bank there is no access. There are many private properties right on the shore, the only theoretically accessible place was blocked off with fences.
