You wouldn't guess what was inside from the outside.

In 1791, however, Duke Peter Friedrich Ludwig had the now dilapidated Protestant church renovated in the classicist style and expanded to include a rotunda reminiscent of the Roman Pantheon. Contrary to what the neo-Gothic façade suggests, the interior of the church is round. The dome opening in the rotunda creates a connection to heaven. St. Lamberti Church is one of only five round churches in Germany. In addition to church services, musical events such as concerts, for example by choirs or jazz bands, are also held here regularly.

The Lambertikirche, also St. Lamberti Church, is an Evangelical bishop's church in Oldenburg (Oldb), Lower Saxony. It is located northwest of Oldenburg Castle. The contrast between the exterior design of the church, which a neo-Gothic hall church suggests, and the interior design of the church with a classical rotunda is remarkable. The highest of the church's five towers is 86 m high. This makes the Lamberti Church the tallest building in the city and accordingly shapes the silhouette. The church was named after Saint Lambertus and is the main church of the Oldenburg State Church.
