Hiking
The sandy grassland on Waller Weg covers an area of five hectares and consists of former sand fields and sparsely wooded remains of drifting sand dunes. A small population of sand lizards has also managed to survive on the sand head at the edge of the meadow orchard, which is covered with rare sandy grassland. In 2009, a few additional piles of wood and stones were created for them to overwinter. The special nature of the sand habitats only becomes apparent upon closer inspection, as the specially adapted plant and animal species are often inconspicuous.
