King hunting lodge

His Royal Highness Prince Wilhelm of Württemberg had in 1888 the "hunting lodge Schönbuch" - as the royal hunting lodge was then called - build. It stands on the plateau of the rock garden and can probably be called a "spacious log cabin". Quite modest, the hut probably because failed because the budget-minded Kronprinz did not want to expose the charge that he had spent too much money, especially after the secularization Abbot's house in the former monastery Bebenhausen under King Frederick had already been converted into a royal hunting lodge.

The King's Hunting Lodge became immediately the favorite place for the hunting events of the Prince, crowned King of Württemberg on October 6, 1891. The king received important news on the postman's path when he was at the king's hunting lodge.

Nevertheless, despite the not all too sumptuous equipment she became quickly social center of the hunting happening. The view extends over the Wurmlinger chapel to the Swabian Alb. In the area stands the signals oak; the predecessor of the same name stood outside the present enclosure.

Today the king hunting lodge is a popular destination for excursions from all directions.

After S.K.H. Prince William of Württemberg on 1 April 1886 had leased the districts Bebenhausen, Entringen, Herrenberg and Weil, he had in 1888 the "hunting lodge Schönbuch" - as the Royal Hunting Lodge was then called - build. The royal forester Münst writes in the district chronicle: "The same - a log cabin in the Swiss style - contains a pretty living room, for the prince itself an ante-room, which is also kitchen, a cellar, horse stable, a Wagenremise The hut, which heated is simple but nicely furnished and decorated with antlers. "
