The hill where the Alarilla hermitage stands was an ancient surveillance post for the Tajo River during the Middle Ages. The sanctuary is dedicated to the patron saint of Fuentidueña de Tajo and is an extraordinary viewing point of the extensive plain of the Tajo River and the river meanders between beautiful curtains of riverside trees and tamarisk forests.
