The Villewälder nature reserve serves to preserve and develop habitats and animal and plant species of community interest. The "Berggeistweiher" is one of more than two dozen bodies of water in the "Ville" between Brühl and Liblar that offer hikers wonderful variety on their forest walks. Historically, today's nature and landscape conservation area in the "Rhineland Nature Park" is a former mining area, where brown coal was mined in open-cast mines in times long past. Unfortunately, there are hardly any benches to sit on and no picnic areas.

Nevertheless, hiking enthusiasts, put on light hiking shoes and head out into the wonderful autumnal nature.
