The Uwanabe Kofun and Konabe Kofun are two magnificent keyhole-shaped burial mounds (前方後円墳), both encircled by moats and cloaked in a dense covering of pine trees. Towering side by side, these ancient structures are a striking sight: the Uwanabe Kofun on the east stretches a monumental 255 meters in length, while its slightly smaller counterpart, Konabe Kofun to the west, measures 204 meters.

Surrounding Konabe Kofun are several smaller mounds, which likely housed burial goods or were companion graves. These mounds, along with the keyhole-shaped ones, are prominent examples of mid-5th century Japanese burial practices, marking the Kofun period—an era known for its elaborate funerary architecture and the power of the ruling elite.
