The Konstitutionsplatz (Constitution Square) was laid out on the old Bastion Beck (1644,1685). Here is also the memorial monument "Gëlle Fra" (Golden Woman), which was erected in 1923 to commemorate the Luxembourg soldiers who died in World War I. Today it symbolizes the freedom and resistance of the Luxembourg people.

This square also offers a beautiful view of the Petrus Valley and the Adolphe Bridge.

The 21-meter-high monument was created in 1823 by the sculptor Claus Cito.

It was erected after the First World War to commemorate the Luxembourgers who had volunteered to serve in the French and Belgian armies and who had fallen in the First World War.

When the Nazis occupied the city in the Second World War, the base and obelisk of the monument were destroyed and the statue removed.

The current Gëlle Fra ("Golden Lady") was rebuilt or restored in 1985 from old original parts.

The glass lift connects Pescatore Park, located in the city center, and the Pfaffenthal district embedded in the Alzette Valley. The ride in the glass cabin offers a unique panoramic view (overcoming 71 meters of height) and is suitable for both pedestrians and cyclists.
