The Mutter-Möller-Weg is a picturesque hiking trail in Schwerte that stretches between the Schwerter Heide and the Dortmunder Sommerberg. It mainly leads through the beech forests of the Aplerbecker Mark and offers hikers an impressive nature experience.

The trail is part of the Aplerbecker Wald nature reserve, which has been under protection since 2005. This area is a remnant of the once almost complete forest cover of the Ardey Mountains between the Emscher and Ruhr. More than 100 species of birds, including the grey woodpecker, buzzard, tawny owl and long-eared owl, are native here.

A popular circular hike starts at the Freischütz restaurant and leads through the Schwerter Wald into the Gehrenbachtal to the Gehrenbachteich. From there, the Mutter-Möller-Weg continues to the railway line and into the Aplerbecker Wald. This route offers varied landscapes and is ideal for nature lovers.
