Upon entering the first courtyard of the monastery, one's gaze is drawn to the frescoed, so-called "Wonder Fountain." When the monastery was built in 1142, it was believed that the eighth wonder of the world had been created. Therefore, the monastery complex was depicted on the octagonal fountain, alongside the seven ancient wonders of the world.
