A statue of D. João IV that stands in the square in front of the Fort of São Francisco Xavier, known as the Rotunda do Castelo do Queijo. The statue was installed in this location in 1966 and is identical to one that exists in Praça XV in Rio de Janeiro. A tribute to the King of the United Kingdom of Portugal-Brazil and the Algarve.
