Gravel trail branching off the rebuilt RN12 road after climbing to the level of the dam, then circles the reservoir and follows the original road along the Toughda River to rejoin the road just south of the town of Tamtattouchte. While the water level is very low or even dry, the route is navigable and avoids some of the climbs and the traffic on the paved road.
