Bike Touring Highlight
In the course of the so-called northern migration of the mining industry in the Ruhr area, the first coal mine north of the Emscher river was built in 1866, which is why the mine was also given the beautiful name »Nordstern«.
The Nordsternpark is an interesting area with exciting architecture in buildings and bridges. In addition, it offers gardens, playgrounds and museum facilities. The park is suitable, for example, for a quiet end to excursions in the area in the Gelsenkirchen area.
The park is constantly open on numerous entrances. Admission is free!
In the park there are in particular around the winding towers gastronomic facilities and beer gardens. At some parking lots there is a mobile kiosk for an ice cream in between.
