In Niederwerdenfelser Land used to be a more or less coherent Hump corridor. This geomorphological peculiarity of the alpine area was partially destroyed by leveling. Around Mittenwald, the largest humpback meadow remainders still exist in the entire Alpine region. To preserve this treasure, the meadows are no longer leveled, not fertilized and only extensively farmed.
