You can see the ancient agora or market place, the centre of town from the cafe. The nearby Mosque stands on top of the ancient baths. As the builders used blocks from the ancient monuments, a block incorporated into the corner wall of the Mosque has the following inscription: "The gods that were here" and lists 12 deities including Zeus, Apollo, Artemis, Athena & Aphrodite (all Greek gods). It's a bit ironic for a religious building that proclaims "There is only one God and Mohammed is his prophet".
