The lake is located at 931 m above sea level. With a surface area of around 18 ha, it is the largest Allgäu high mountain lake. The maximum depth of the lake is about 25 meters. The Freibergsee has no visible inflows and outflows; its periodically fluctuating water level is regulated by underground inflows and outflows.
Nearby is the Heini-Klopfer ski flying hill. This is open (costs admission) and you can go up by lift. Beautiful view from the hill

At Freibergsee is a tourist restaurant with swimming pool. That's what you call after a break.
