The last of six mills
In Wiesthal there were once six mills in which grain was ground or oil was extracted. One of the oldest and the last grain mill preserved here is the "Ruhmühle". It was first mentioned in documents in 1625 and owes its name to its location at the former ford of the 16-kilometer-long Aubach to the opposite district of "Hockenruh". In the official property register it is also called "Mühlhansenmühle". This name has been documented since 1846 and is traced back to a "Johannes" who lived next door at the time. Another Wiesthal mill, an oil mill, was rebuilt true to the original in the open-air museum in Fladungen/Rhön.Source: information board at the site

After many years of hard work, the “Ruhmühle” has once again become an “eye-catcher”, great.
