This church is a temple of the eparchy and is one of the largest churches in Macedonia. It was built in 1830, and its bell tower a century later, in 1936. It was built at a time when Turkish law did not allow churches to be too high. Therefore, burying this magnificent building in the ground was the best way to respect the law at that time.
