    Very nice cafe with fine cakes and own praline production, there are also hearty dishes. Nice terrace, cozy interior.

    It is named after Gustav Mesmer, the "Ikarus vom Lautertal", a dreamer, brilliant-creative inventor and tireless inventor, who has worked all his life on his great dream of flying from his own strength and countless playful, but quite seriously meant models of Built flying bikes, but never really could find his place in life and spent much of his life in psychiatry (Biography: gustavmesmer.de/biografie/). He died in 1994 at the age of 91 here in Buttenhausen.

    His work was shown in 2015 in a wonderful exhibition in Friedrichshafen, which I was lucky to see - a few of his models can be seen here:
