At low tide, the pale sandbar at Point Walter reaches far into the Swan River, making it tempting to follow it out and look back towards the wooded shoreline. Dyoondalup means “place of white sand”, and this crossing holds deep significance for Noongar people. Check the tide before heading too far along it, as sections disappear beneath the water and your return may involve wading.
