It is one of the hardest climbs I have done in the Alta Langhe region. The first 2 km have an average gradient of over 10% without any rest. The "ordeal" ends when you pass Albaretto della Torre, where the gradient eases off considerably. The road is in perfect condition and there is no traffic, as happens when you take non-main roads. Once you gain altitude, the views are really impressive, especially from Albaretto della Torre.
