The castle originally built in the Middle Ages no longer exists. But the former east wing, built in 1614 as a widow's seat for the Countess Palatine, can still be seen. This part of the castle, also known as the Herzog-Wolfgang-Haus, is used by a curative education facility and can therefore only be viewed from the outside. However, it is worth walking around through the romantic castle gardens around the castle and castle church.

The Meisenheim Castle Church is an impressive late Gothic hall church dating back to the 15th century and is considered a landmark of the town. Particularly noteworthy are the Rococo pulpit, the colorful choir windows, and the historic silent organ from the 18th century. The church once served as the burial place for the Counts Palatine of Palatinate-Zweibrücken. Guided tours are available by appointment; it can be visited without a guided tour during opening hours.
