Castello di Tordimonte, located south of Orvieto, is a historic fortress dating back to the 13th century. The castle, which stands on a steep, triangular hilltop, offers beautiful views over the Paglia River valley. Originally owned by the Montemarte family, it has had several owners over the centuries and has been restored several times, most notably in the early 20th century by architect Ugo Tarchi. The castle is surrounded by wooded grounds and has an impressive central tower that rises above the other buildings.
