In 1676 the local castle was acquired by Baron Maximilian von Sala. In gratitude for his eldest daughter's recovery, he had a chapel built opposite. Here he founded a Servite monastery in 1693. Almost three hundred years later - in 1978 - it was closed due to a lack of young talent.
