Hiking

The FFH protected area consists of two parts, which extend south and southeast of the town of Wehrheim-Pfaffenwiesbach, and covers a total area of around 40 hectares. This area is a very old cultural landscape. Burial mounds from the late Bronze Age prove that the Wiesbach valley was settled early on. The field name "Haubergsgrund" probably derives from the use of coppice (Hauberge) around the Wehrholz. Traces of the former coppice are still visible today near the fish ponds.
