Converting old buildings into apartments is no longer a specialty these days. But behind the Sorgendorf brewery is much more than old buildings. “Sorgendorf was first mentioned in a document in 930,” explains Piroutz. From 1603 to 1991 the area was a brewery and every Bleiburger still knows the famous Sorgendorfer beer. The old oven on site is a listed building.

Cycling

Was once one of the largest breweries in the old monarchy with a delivery area as far as Ljubljana. Acquired by Gösser in 1921, incorporated into "Steirerbrau" in 1977 and closed in 1991 after a previous renovation due to unfulfilled demands from the state of Carinthia (sewage treatment plant). Most recently, the "Sonnenbräu" brand was brewed here.
