We were lucky that someone was there. As touring cyclists we were able to get to the campsite at 7pm on a Friday. So call in advance if possible. campingplatz-kampmeier.de/kontakt.htmQuiet little tent pitches: €22 for 1 adult plus child, tent and 2 bikes. campingplatz-kampmeier.de/touristcamping.htmShowers cost extra: 50 cents - coin required. A battery charging station must also be included in the price. Since we were self-sufficient with our solar panels, we didn't ask about it.

The Kampmeier campsite in Iserlohn-Drüpplingsen has been a family-run campsite since 1949 and is idyllically located directly on the Ruhr. The site offers two separate camping areas with a total of 110 pitches, which are suitable for both permanent campers and tourists with caravans, mobile homes or tents. The pitches vary in size: On campsite 1, the plots are around 100 square meters and are characterized by the natural trees and the Abbabach, which divides the site into two parts. A bridge connects these areas. Campsite 2 is characterized by spacious comfort plots of up to 300 square meters, which are mostly fenced in by hedges and some offer an unobstructed view. For families with children, playgrounds with climbing towers, slides, sandpits, swings and table tennis tables are available. Each campsite has a large Ruhr meadow, which is ideal for sunbathing, picnicking or playing ball. Footbridges provide direct access to the Ruhr, ideal for swimming or boat trips. The sanitary facilities are open all year round and are regularly maintained to ensure that guests always have clean facilities. A lounge and a washing machine are also available. The location of the campsite is particularly attractive for cyclists, as the Ruhr Valley cycle path runs right past the site. The nearby Ruhr bridge provides quick access to the towns of Dellwig and Langschede, where shops and restaurants await visitors. Special pitches are available for tourist campers on campsite 1. Prices vary depending on the type of accommodation and season. Advance reservation is recommended, especially for spontaneous arrivals, to ensure that there is a contact person on site. Overall, the Kampmeier campsite offers a harmonious combination of nature experience and comfort, ideal for anyone looking for relaxation near the Ruhr.
