A first town hall of Neustadt-Glewe was mentioned in 1576. It probably fell victim to a fire and later demolition. 1720, a second town hall was built, which was destroyed a few years later by fire.

The present town hall of Lewitzstadt was built from 1802 to 1806. It is a two-storey, plastered half-timbered building with a classical triangular gable. The mansard roof is crowned by a central open lantern. The tower clock was equipped with a peal, which sounds every quarter of an hour. In 1996, the town hall was extensively renovated. It is the seat of the office Neustadt-Glewe, which includes the city with its districts and two communities.
