This section of the trail requires a certain degree of surefootedness (*on the descent) and, above all, stamina, unless you have the physical fitness required for a mountain hike. The rocky ascent leads mainly through a larch forest. When you reach Alp Loie (2217 m above sea level), the hardest part of the ascent is behind you and a wonderful open mountain landscape opens up.
