This sandstone stele was created by Professor Hartmut Hornung and ceremonially unveiled on August 30, 2002. The three sides of the stele depict scenes from the town's history. The front shows the battle between the two brothers of Stove. During this fight, their sister was accidentally killed, whereupon she ascended to heaven as an angel. As penance for this act, Ivenack Monastery was founded in 1252.
