A great spot, not too far from the city centre, to relax and enjoy the scenery on a selection of easy trails.

Alternatively, it's a great way to get to and from the trails of the Peak District whilst bypassing some bothersome roads.

Mountain biking

As series of wide, well-surfaced bridleways criss-cross these ancient woods. Can get busy with dog walkers and runners so be prepared to take it steady and give way plenty. The routes are manageable on most bikes but more comfortable if you have a wider tyre.
