Very rustic place to stop with delicious food and drinks. According to employees, the alp dates back to 1640. Beautiful view!

    Mountaineering

The Obere Gemstelalpe (1694 m) lies on a small high cirque in the higher part of the Gemstel valley. The hiking trail from the Hintere Gemstelalpe - i.e. the valley floor - leads directly past the alp via the "Sprengten Weg" and then continues in the direction of the Widdersteinhütte or Sterzer Hütte and Geißhorn.

The alp is used for gastronomy, so a material cable car runs from the Hintere Gemstelalpe to the Obere Gemstelalpe. This cozy alpine inn is only open in summer and offers hearty snacks, deer sausages from our own range and homemade cakes.
