In the early months of the Second World War, Vraux had an airfield on which, in the context of the deployment in France of the expeditionary force (B.E.F) aircraft were deployed. The Royal Air Force (whose headquarters was in Reims), stationed for several months British aircraft of the Advanced Air Striking Force (A.A.S.F) whose task was to support the French Army.
