The B 15 is an important Bavarian traffic axis in a south-north direction, east of the greater Munich area. It connects the federal motorways A 8 and A 93 from the Rosenheim area with the motorways A 3 and A 93 in the Regensburg area and continues to Hof in Upper Franconia.The construction of the western bypass is intended to relieve the Rosenheim town center of through traffic and some of the source and destination traffic, and to increase travel speeds.It is the largest construction project in the history of the Rosenheim State Construction Office; a project of superlatives: along the route, the B15 crosses two major bodies of water, three railway lines and three state roads. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in August 2012.
