A huge, connected lava field from the volcanic eruptions of recent years on the Reykjarnes peninsula and near Grindavik. From the car park you can hike several signposted hiking routes. The complete route as a circular walk takes about 5 hours, but you can also hike directly to the lava tongue and marvel at the power of nature up close.
