In 1726, the Baroque new building began incorporating elements dating back to the 12th century. The church tower received a dome, the nave a mansard roof and large windows. The interior was generously decorated with galleries, pulpit altar and wooden ceiling and painted in 1728 by the artist Johannes Ernst Rentsch with biblical images and flower ornaments (Wikipedia).
