The church in Lipniki was built next to a chapel built around 1775. The building permit was issued by the Bishop of Płock, Józef Eustachy Szembek. The cornerstone for the construction of the church was laid in 1839, while the construction of the temple itself began in May 1841 and was completed in 1844.
